Columbia Waterfront San Diego High Rise Condos

The Columbia (Waterfront) District is one of the most desirable places to live in all of Downtown San Diego. Offering a terrific waterfront location and proximity to the best restaurants in downtown’s Little Italy and Gaslamp, this neighborhood is all poised to benefit from all the development brought by the future North Embarcadero Visionary Plan which is already underway.

There is a large variety of condos in downtown San Diego, but Columbia District Condos are typically luxury high rises and include Bayside, Sapphire Tower, The Grande, Electra and Treo which is not as luxurious as the previous properties and also offers more affordable HOA fees. There are also a few new projects planned by BOSA Development Corp to build a few new high rises in the area in the next few years but none have broke ground yet.

The 2012 calendar year was a terrific comeback year for downtown San Diego condominiums in general but the Columbia District was one of the district with the most price appreciation as buyers recognize the incredible location, quality of the buildings and potential for future appreciation.

There were a total of 134 condo sales in the waterfront district in 2012 with an average sales price of $714,966. The average price per square foot for a Columbia San Diego condo in 2012 was $491 up from $466 in 2011.
